Symbol PDA Scanners

PDA's like the the Symbol PPT 8800 or iPAQ with the Symbol SPS 3000 becomes a wireless devices capable of scanning bar codes or entering data in a real-time mode.We have implemented these device to perform suspended transactions, physical inventories, store to store transfers, direct store deliveries and other functions performed by portable data terminals.

This implementation uses Internet technology,  eliminating the need for downloading a program to the PDA. Any device that is capable of running an Internet Browser will be able to perform the functions listed below.

Physical Inventory Counting: Use this device in conjunction with our physical inventory process to update physical counts.

Suspend Transactions: Use this device to create a suspended sale that can be simply recalled at the Point-of-Sale. This feature is used when the product is back stocked,  not capable of being brought to the registers, or by sales people on the sales floor.

Store to Store Transfer: Create a transfer inventory out using this device.

Receiving or Purchase Orders: Create a Receive by Invoice, Purchase Order or update the receive quantity for a purchase order device.

• Create a new EDI Receiving
• Scan merchandise
• Scan Serial Numbers for item that are part of a serial group
• Create a Purchase Order
• Create a Receive by Invoice
• Update Purchase Orders Receive Quantity

Specifications: The following specification are required to use a wireless device in this operation.

• Windows 2000/XP
• .Net Services configured
• Wireless access point with 802.11b integration
• Web Browser on the device.
