Vendor Catalogs
One
of the many features of the Inventory Management System
(IMS) is the ability to have multiple catalogs stored within
the system. This allows you to easily and quickly add
items
into the Inventory Management System and to inquire if
a vendor stocks a certain item. Almost any vendor who
can distribute their data electronically can be imported
into
the ARS Retail System. We recommend that you select only
the vendors with whom you do a substantial amount of
business.

REQUESTING A VENDOR CATALOG
To receive a catalog, you must contact
your vendor to discuss whether they have the ability to copy
their catalog data to
a diskette, send via email, or download from a website. Fields
for a Part Number, Description, Cost, and UPC Code are required
(Additional fields are allowed.)
A vendor that is listed on
our website will send there data directly to the
retailer. This interface option
will import
the data from the vendor into the Vendor Catalog function
of the Inventory Management System. Vendors that are not
listed
on the website will need to send the data to our development
staff to create an interface.
Please feel free to have your
vendor contact us with any questions they may have regarding
the conversion of the
data. All catalogs
are kept strictly confidential. ARS will provide a catalog
specification for a catalog so the vendor can distribute
the data directly to the retailer to be imported into
IMS. However,
most vendors have their own format and a conversion by
ARS may be needed to import the catalog into your system.
A request
for catalogs must be made directly with the vendor.
These
catalog and interfaces are provided to you at no charge.
