About Us

The original software design was developed and installed in 1987 using the FoxBASE development tool. During the next two years the system was enhanced with installations in retail sporting goods, liquor, and apparel stores being completed. At that time development into EDI interface's was added to communicate electronically with sporting goods distributors.

As technology has changed our application has been modified to leverage the hardware investment of our customer.  With the popularity of the Windows environment, the development tool was changed to FoxPro and the Inventory Management System was redeveloped from 1992-1993.  This allowed the system to incorporate the now standard graphical user interface, mouse support, and many new features.

From 1993 to present the system continues to be enhanced with much of the development being done for multiple store communication using wide area networks and the Internet. The introduction of ARSMailer along with ARSFtp allowed us to enhance the data transfer capabilities of both our Retail System and our Venlink Systems.

E-commerce was added to our product offerings in 1996 with integration into our Retail System Webstore and the redevelopment of Venlink into a web based application. We currently work with many E-commerce providers to integrate the transfer of data between there online shopping carts with the ARS order fulfillment and inventory data.

The Object-Orientated Programming Model (Visual Foxpro) was implemented in 1998 by our development staff  to create our Retail System Version 5 and ARSTime. This programming model allows us to quickly add new features and functions to our growing list of applications.

In 2001 we released Version 5 of our Retail System. This version is a 32 bit Windows application that also incorporates internet technologies. Data exchanged between the application uses XML and web services.

Our current installation base (over 2000 users) includes the following retail environments: apparel, convenience, craft, gift, hardware, hobby, liquor, pet, sporting goods, scuba, tobacco, Minnesota Deputy Registrars, and many others. Our installed base includes all 50 states, Canada, Caymen Islands, Honduras, Mongolia, Puerto Rico and other countries.
